...so what's 1 FULL revolution on your windage???

..okay...I must admit it, after hunting groundhogs for over 35 years, with over 2,000 confirmed kills....I must admit that I screw up once in awhile!!...lol... ::) ::)

...the other evening, I was re-marking my Nightforce scope for the zero settings....did the elevation okay...counted the revs, etc....then I did the windage...no problem...

...the next day, I went hunting.... :o

.....afterwards, I got the target box out to check my zero...wow 1 full revolution off on my windage turret....

so...this afternoon, I went back out to get some redemption!!

Been there..........done that. Only problem with me was mine had 15 witnesses! Thanks for the great videos.

i was ten min low once. did it beginning of the summer. still fret about it. check my zero at least once every 2 weeks if not more just cause of it. not a bad habit though I suppose. thought about a 7x61 s & H once. I've settled on a 6.5x47 lapua though. shot 7mm mag for first 2 years of g hog hunting. I even got a muzzle brake on my lapua. I can get back on anything past 250 yards. It kicks slightly less than my AR does. shootin place at 960 yards the other day. that was what determined whether I cas going to go bigger or not. shooting 123 a-maxes. winds always the determining factor. usually shoots from .28 to .5 moa just depending on me and the wind. I don't really shoot 100 yards any more.

Ohhrahh, hear, hear!

One time whilst coyote hunting on the way back to the truck i thought to take a shot at a rock half way up a tepee butte [big hill on the prairie that looks like a montrous Hersheys Kiss] about 600 yds. away. Had a 6AI 700, with some optic that had a Stoney Point tgt. turret on top [these don't have revolution indicators on them, BTW]. The other side of the butte was a feed lot that was full of cows at the time about a mile away. Shot once, and didn't detect any bullet impact, so thought to shoot a 2nd time--again no impact. Just about then i started to get a bad feeling welling up inside of me that i was off a revolution or so on the turret's elevation. Sure enough i was and the bullets were flying over the butte. I ran to the top of it and looked over at the feed lot trying to see if there was any abnormal activity going on in it in the form of dead people or cows, and there wasn't, but i was SCARED FOR AWHILE ON THAT ONE. Lesson hard-learned i tell ya'.

BTW 6.5--Filipino ka? Asawa ko Filipina.

Alright! Can't get enough of that country or the people. Was there in Bicol Region just this May/June. Truth is we'll be living there some after retirement. Have you ever been back?

This last time i met up with Johnny Garcia the guy who started the Long Range Rimfire Philippines website while in Manila, and man is he a fascinating shooting personality--INTO it like few i've ever known. Also visited the Armscor facility in Marikina, Manila. Wanted to shoot some rats at the local dump where my wife has her house in Bicol--probably next year with a couple Armscor air gun pistols i'll buy for some relatives.

I could tell you were raised here as you have no accent.

BTW--GO PACQUIAO!--The greatest humble humanitarian of all time!!

indeed!

....gonna secure more g'hog fields after work. Doing the video thing is all about timing.

....it is one thing to dial everything in for "the shot"...it is another to ALSO get the video cam setup all the while hoping the g'hog doesn't move out of position.

One thing I am learning is to FIRST setup the rifle first, and then move onto the video camera second.

,,,this means WAR!!!!.....lol..... >:(

...not AGAIN!! :o

;D ;D

..okay.....STUPID ME!......after sighting in my 6PDK with the new Vortex PST 2.5-10x44 Scope yesterday...I glance down at the target and think....hmmnnn....the group looks to be about 3/4MOA low at 100 yards.....

..so I get home, click in 4 FULL clicks UP.....loosen the (3) allen head screws and move the ZERO line on the elevation turret.....

...so, here was the RESULT....

..btw.......this means WAR.......silly g'hogs....

....okay....I think I figured out just what the heck is the problem...my Eberstock Backpack was causing my windage turret to rotate 1 Full REV whenever I would insert or remove my AR-15....I have since wrapped it with electrical tape [temporary] to prevent this...

...on Vortex PST 2.5-10x44 Scopes..there is 86MOA of adjustment, the horizontal graduations are very fine = especially for these bifocal-corrected eyes!! = very easy to get "lost" by one REV

Good video. Well done. Good luck with the scope corrections. Look forward to more video with dead on hits.

.....yeah, a zero stop would be nice, however, the electrical tape is a decent stop-gap measure in the interim!

..my other Vortex PST scopes do have zero-stops.....

I took a fine RED Sharpie and colored where the ZERO position should be, as you can see in the pic, the distance between the 0, 2, 4, 6 graduations is very SMALL......in relation to the vertical 0 line...

it is real easy to be off by one REV
