So I let my Father-in-law paint his stock (final pictures)

Title sounds a little funny, and I'm not sure this is the right section for this. Anyways I am in the middle of putting together a 300 win mag for my father-in-law. I had to modify the stock to fit the Deviant action and I ended up exposing some of the carbon fiber and other composites. So I called him up and told him I was going to send it out for cerakote after I got it all finished how I wanted it, He said to me.... You know, I think maybe I will paint it. And this is what it looks like so far. I have to say it kinda blows my mind a little. He has some God given talents, and I just wanted to share them with you guys.

that is some nice work.
must say I find it pretty cool.

Re: So I let my Father-in-law paint his stock

Absolutely beautiful work! Is he using an airbrush? I really like the way he wrapped the mountains from the bottom and up the sides!

Re: So I let my Father-in-law paint his stock

That's good looking work. Very creative. Interested to know the techniques used.

I saw the bottle labeled "Pure Leaf" and was wondering what kind of paint that was - then I realized it was an iced tea bottle.

Yes Ray, there will be a clear coat of some sort. No airbrush just a combination of I think krylon spray, acrylic paint (I believe brushable kind) and hand made stencils. I am sending the barreled action off in the next few days for cerakote so I should have complete assembly at the end of next week or so. Thanks guys for nice complaint's I will pass them on to him.

I will tell him and I already asked to watch and he said no. I don't think he wants to pro sue outside of his own stuff.

I've seen a lot of rifle paint jobs and that one takes a back seat to none of them.

Thanks! I will pass that along

Phil.

I will be posting as frequently as I can get pics from him. Can't wait to see the finished part myself. I will get some pictures when I start final assembly.
