Snipers Hide Down?? or What?

Anybody now what is up w/ the Snipers Hide????

I think they are changing over to a new forum software, vbulletin, and it's taking some time and/or multiple tries to get it to be successful.

they were down a couple days ago for the same thing, then back up. Today, they have been down all day.

Their up and running now but I think it's a mess right now.
Stuff is in incorrect order concerning times and dates.
And it seems to be running very slow for me now after I had it running like a champ
with Chrome. Oh well, we'll wait and see what happens.

They are back. The upgrade they did good or bad did make the site more consistent. Before it was fast in the morning then slow in the evening. Now it is slower overall. Still way faster in the evening.

I am glad they are back. There is lots of information on SH that this site just does not have. Each site has its good side and dark side. Prime example this site is full of bolt holders and that site is full of steel bangers and both groups have a hard time dealing with others and others ideas. So take them both as they are. If you do not like them just stay away.

The one thing that is really nice about SH is there is far more different categories than here so that is nice.

After reading some of the comments above, ref the SH site, it appears my visits here are to be re-considered.
Come on guys, if you don't like the site, stay off of it.
Do not denigrate it as well as your self.

Yes it's back on line, but they changed my password! SH has some strange posters, but they have some genuine guys posting from the front lines in the sandbox, too. Their motivational posters(some NSFW) keep the guys in the office chuckling. If my boss finds out, I may have to retire(again)!

Seems like maybe they don't have any opcode or content caching going on, which is almost a requirement for PHP based bulletin boards these days to have good performance. The new format seems like an improvement IMO. Looks like vBulletin, same as Benchrest Central. Good to see any shooting site stay up and running...

It's up and running but what a headache it is.

Switching over forum software is a very big deal with as many posts and registered members as Snipers' Hide has. I know Lowlight and his crew are working very hard to get this right. There are databases with potentially millions of post records, and SH has 70K members if I recall.

Folks need to be patient and let the SH guys do their jobs. There will be tweaking and optimization that could take some time. I advise those who are upset to remember SH is rendering a free service to its members. I'm confident the issues will be resolved in a reasonable amount of time. Lowlight (Frank) is to be commended for spending the time and money to upgrade his Forum -- a big task. Just be patient folks....
