I agree they help me identify my SmithsId sign up on the s&w forum and show those guys
thanks and yes its a 38 sw its fully functional in great shape for a pistol over 100 yrs old i may put on classifieds for some kind of trade and again thanks for your inputMost likely pre 1907. If it’s a true “Lemon Squeezer” it’s a 4th model, it’s in 38 S&W ( Not 38 Spec). If it is fully functional it’s probably ok to shoot a bit. But it really belongs in a collection.
Before you do that id put it on gunbroker and let an auction dictate the value. You never know what you gotthanks and yes its a 38 sw its fully functional in great shape for a pistol over 100 yrs old i may put on classifieds for some kind of trade and again thanks for your input

thanks for the info and it shoots as good as that stool sits too and again thanksIt's almost as old as that stool.
But, thankfully, appears in better condition.
According to my reference the SN puts this one as 5th Model.
Production dates 1907-1940 with a total number of 41,500 units.
The key for identification of this model is supposed to be that it has a T-shaped barrel latch that lifts to open and front sights are integral to the barrel.
Mind you, this is from my reference that is a 2007 printing. Values on these guns are so broad that I would not venture a value. The gun's true history and value is likely in records held by Roy Jinks and, for a fee, he could provide provenance.
