Small Snattle rake

And he doesn’t even look like the bad type.
Nope. Just a pretty standard looking danger noodle.

These and the "brown" snake really vary in colour so so they can be hard to distinguish. This taipan is pretty dark but if you look close they usually have a darker / black band across the eyes and a very small head.

Are they pretty common where your at?

Not the inland tipan where I am. They are more native to areas with less population.

The eastern brown is common. If you have some sort of shelter for them like iron on the ground, wood pile etc a bit of water and rodents then your increasing your likely hood. They are obviously in bushland but if your have something like a horse stable, chicken run or a compost pit, which attracts rodents, then your bringing them closer to your living area.

Heaps where I'm located ... Eastern browns are also FAST, thankfully in the opposite direction on most occasions but the larger one's can be stubborn and force the issue. Rehomed (technically illegal to kill) one barely 2 foot from the front door, was living in the hedge under the weed mat we suspect. Browns and Tigers, we have all the fun. That little rattler looks cute, and if they warn you, so much the better. Ours just scare the crap out of you as they just suddenly appear from nowhere. LOL
