Anyone use srp in the 22 Creedmoor?
I am getting a sort of delayed firing when using them with powder like Superformance
not really a hang fire but just enough delay to mess up your shot
I do use them with other powders but I am going to quit using them with Superformance

Ball powders don’t like SRP in cold weather. Going to other mag primers didn’t help. Go to VV550 or such stick powder and they work. LRP Brass is the other option but I hate to have summer and winter brass.

Well I'm not walking away from this load with my 6 creed with 450's and R16, that pic on the left was shot with some wind right to left. Both shot at 665 yards

My experience with 6.5 Creed says you should use the larger primer if you’re getting ignition issues in the cold.

That delay is a classic symptom of pre-detonation (I believe that is the term used?) when the case is not at proper fill, especially when using a slower powder. you might try Remington 7 1/2 primers to heat things up a bit - but that is all you are going to get out of small primers.

Okay you guys are raising some flags for me. I just got a load for my 25 Creedmoor with Accurate2700 in lrp Hornady brass. Now I’m fixing to load from some new Lapua SRP 6.5 brass necked down to the 25, should I abandon the 2700 since it’s considered ball type and doubled based?

If we could buy any primer for under 10.00/100 in Cda, we'd be ecstatic. Last wk I was looking at some pricing again, 25.99/100 for CCI BR primers, 15.99 for Fed GM's. Good part of that is tariffs at the moment, they weren't removed from "sporting goods", 25% I believe.

Then buy them in the U.S.
