Slicker shock

My girl went to the PO in Hampton NH to mail a check to pay the balance of my new Hemi Cuda. 3 day mail to Langley British Columbia. $85.00. 3 to 5 day mail $35.00. Regular mail which the postmaster said would probably get there in 5 days, $1.65.

I needed to send a letter to Ontario, Canada. 4 or 5 days, something like $32.00!!! Damn near get a plane ticket for that!! Got there in less than a week for maybe $2.00. ;)
Anything going to Canada, be prepared to get bent over. BIG TIME!!
Ordered pellet stove parts and had to return them. VAT in Canada was $50.00.
You can squawk all you want but you STILL have to pay it.
Returned more parts and marked the USPS paperwork "returned parts". Still another $50.00. It's been said you can APPEAL it (theVAT)? Not from California you cant.:oops::mad:

Bolt to Accu Tig? USPS Flat Rate, maybe $10.00? Takes longer to get there than it does for Dan to do his thing, drop it back in the mail and on it's way back to you. :D:D

That is why I use USPS to Canada and most out of USA shipments.

On the flip side, as a Canadian when I order from the USA I always make sure they ship with USPS, very reasonable costs, but the downside can be the Can Border services taking their time inspecting/passing for entry.
For instance, any bolt action parts, like a shroud for a 700 can be weeks to 3 months. Firearm parts are on the very bottom of the list of priority. It is very dependant on the type and it seems, the company or retailer. Boyds stocks are a few weeks usually, Brownell/Sinclair also fairly quick.
On the other hand, UPS will get orders here very quick, like 5-6 days but be prepared to get seriously bent over on Brokerage Fee's.

My recoil lugs usually take about a month to arrive in Canada with the USPS. No biggie as long as they make it. And they all have so far.
