Sleeving an action?

I am in the process of restoring an old XP-100 set up as a bench gun. Have an aluminum sleeve and wondering what epoxy to use. I am thinking something on the thicker side so it don't run all over. going to order a couple of barrels from Shooters corner and chamber to 6BR. Any comments welcome.

Aloha, Les

Les,

Some guys use JB Weld and it works very well and sets up like a rock when done. I have used a product called PC7 and thinned it out a bit with isopropyl alchohol just enought to get it to flow enough to get in all of the small spaces. Either one will produce a good redult.

Mahalo,

Some guys recommend action sleeves have a slot cut in the sleeve so the serial # can be seen once the sleeve is in place.

Thanks Hal,
My Sleeve has that small little peek hole for the serial #. Now how to keep the epoxy out of the areas it shouldn't be.
Thanks gentlemen, Les

Go get yourself some florist putty at a craft store and be sure to keep plenty of Q-tips around and rubbing alcohol to dip the Q-tips in to clean the oozed epoxy.
