The last ammo crunch during Obummers presidency higher end ammo like Lapua Midas, center x, RWS R50 &100, Eley match or 10X was always available. Are the tin can .22 shooters cleaning it out now where they weren't prepared to pay that price last time around?

Just a guess, but I expect that one reason might be the popularity of NRL/PRS .22 matches. These matches have really taken off in the last few years. Plus, lots of NRL/PRS competitors are building .22 rimfire trainers in order to save money versus practicing with their centerfire match rifles. You can shoot thousands of match .22 rimfire rounds during practice without burning out a barrel.

I bought a Bergara B14R to use as a match/practice rifle - just in time to run into the ammo shortage. I really didn't expect match ammo to dry either.

Looks like it's going to require covid to die down a whole lot before the ammunition manufacturers will ever get close to producing enough match 22RF ammo to satisfy the demand - and I'd expect it to take a good long time before shooters have enough confidence in supply to stop buying all they can get their hands on.

I lucked out and was able to pick up my order of a brick at BulletCentral so I avoided the shipping. Wished I would have known they were local sooner. Yes, they ran out quick, which is too bad, this lot shoots great in my Bergara B14r.
