Sizing methodology help.

For silly easy fine die adjustments nearer to or further away from the shellholder, use either of the following:

The PMA Micro Die Adjuster replaces the die locking ring and allows adjustment as fine as .0005” at a time.
Brownells/Sinclair Item # 749-013-926 PMA Tool Micro Die Adjuster

Mfr Part: PDA1000 $69.99

Or,

Place a or a combination of Skip’s Die Shims under the die’s locking ring for adjustment to the .001”.
Skip’s Die Shims - 7/8-14 $11.90

Yes, you can do it that way, but 1/ every cycle the brass goes through will have different dimensions - not very conducive to (ultimate) accuracy 2/ you will virtually eliminate the upper load window because it would force you to bump every cycle 3/ while waiting to body size until you "get difficulty chambering" you are undoubtedly stressing your bolt lugs leading to galling( perhaps eventually causing premature wear to the cocking cam). Try and check proper sizing by cycling sized brass through the action using the bolt drop method with galled lugs......not going to give repetitive results.

what i have found in the search for precision is "consistency" is the key word. consistent brass, consistent annealing, consistent neck thickness, consistent bullets, consistent primer seating, consistent powder charges, consistent neck tension, consistent concentricity and on and on.

once you have it right you want everything the same every time.

now if all you are looking for is an MOA or maybe a half MOA rifle it is not that important but if you are looking for consistent 1's and 2's you better be consistent.
