Sizing die for Dillon

Going to start using my 1050 to do brass prep for FTR. Currently using a Whidden sizing die in my Rockchucker. What sizing dies work best in a progressive press?

Make sure u place a die, tight to the shell plate, opposing the FL die station to reduce HS variance.

I've never been able to achieve the same consistency sizing in a 1050, 650 or 550 that I can with a single stage...even with well annealed brass.

Plenty good for PDn loads but comp loads not so much.....at least not to my liking.

I have found the Dillon dies with their flared opening have the case run smoothly into the die. Other brand dies can tend to catch the case on the base of the die.

Not sure what you are loading for but 'm using a 1050xl for high production 9mm and 5.56 so I stuck with the dillon dies as they are considered sb iirc.

After literally thousands upon thousands of rounds cooked up, had not one issue with chambering across different rifles/ pistols so they are working well.

Naturally your situation varies.

Good day,

I've used the Redding Pro dies in a couple of calibers as well as a larger number of Dillon dies with good results on a 550B. I'd purchase whatever was least expensive.

I've also used dies not designed for use with a progressive press. Sometimes a die wouldn't reach all the way to the conversion and allow a particular type of lock ring to lock it. Dependent upon the die and ring manufacturer.

On occasion I have had to put the lock rings on the bottom side of the tool head.
