SITE UPGRADE Saturday August 17

The Main Site and Daily Bulletin May be Offline for up to 24 hours for a Major Server Upgrade.

We are doing three major things on our main AccurateShooter.com Site and the sister Daily Bulletin site:
1. Re-install everything on server with a newer, better, faster operating system
2. Optimize site databases on server for enhanced performance, faster searches, and fewer errors.
3. Upgrade to newer versions of software and plugins.

THIS SHOULD NOT AFFECT OPERATION of the Forum. However, AccurateShooter.com and Bulletin.Accuratshooter.com domains may be offline for up to 24 hours. We will do our best to minimize the time our web pages are "offline". However this is an important procedure that needs to be done.

Please don't bomb our staff with PMs and emails asking what is happening. This is a normal, scheduled operation -- like taking the car in for new tires and an oil change.

We will post a notice here when the operations are complete, hopefully by late Saturday.

Just a Reminder guys. We are now scheduled to start the upgrade at Midnight, Central Time, Saturday August 17.

This means that on Saturday you will NOT be able to access the Daily Bulletin and you will NOT be be able to access the main accurateshooter.com website.

The Forum should remain up and running without interruption all weekend (and in future). It is delivered by a different web server.

This is a planned operation. You will still be able to use the Forum (which runs on a different server). Please don't get agitated and flood us with worried "What the heck happened?" emails...

agree with john. your site is already well laid out and run. thanks for doing such a good job. I know I for one wouldn't be half as good at reloading or shooting if I had to learn it all on my own.

It's OK Paul,if it needs be done,then we can live without the site and bulletin even 2 or 3 days I hope,so easy does it,don't rush it,better do it just cool once and have it top notch,than speed things and flunk...Thanks for telling us,keep up the good work.

Unfortunately we are experiencing some unanticipated issues -- namely the server box or motherboard having I/O problems as we are doing large file transfers and backups. This points to hardware issues that the hosting company don't seem to be able to resolve.

Accordingly, we are bringing a completely new server online with faster processor and more RAM and hope to get the software loaded on it today.
