Site sponsor Xtreme's new picatinny rail with built-in bubble level

Just saw their ad, and decided I probably "need" one of these. So, following my own advice, I called them -- spoke to "Dustin" -- to inquire about the base thickness for the Rem 700 version. At present, they have these (LA and SA) ready to ship. Their Savage versions are not yet back from the anodizer.

Anyway, the Rem 700 base is 0.408" thick in the front, and 0.551" in the back, as measured from the middle (low) point of the radius to the top of the base. And this is a 20 MOA taper. (I did not think to ask Dustin whether he was measuring a LA or SA base, but that difference, given the extra length and geometry involved, would probably be a few thousandths at most..."

So, if you're thinking of using the new Xtreme Picatinny base w/built-in bubble level for a Rem 700, just factor that dimension into the equation with the OD of your intended scope, and then pick ring height accordingly. Dustin opined that "medium" rings ought to do it. I almost hung up on him right then and there, but instead I told him that such terms mean nothing because every manufacturer uses different dimensions. :P

I saw their ad on this site. Had a heckuva time finding them again, and still not sure if it's the same company, but here's what I just dug up on the 'Sponsors' page: http://www.x-tremeshooting.com/index.php?action=contact

Oddly enough, no mention on their website (that I could find) of the picatinny rail with bubble level. :o

Let us know what you find out?

I sent them a Email requesting info about the bases, ill post the response when i get a reply.

Hmmm... After seeing this, I'm thinking that I could epoxy/superglue a little bubble level to the back of my Farrell bases.

uh, maybe not. Click on that link at your own risk people.

What's wrong with the link?

It warned me that I was about to click on a pornographic site. Probably an overzealous security screening app on my new operating system in this computer. I clicked on the link using a different computer (with known security systems in effect and functioning properly), and it appears to be a different company than the one providing the base? Don't know, and it's not really important. 8)

I have one ,very nice rail
be warned, they are made with a recoil lug
will not fit a target acton unless you remove the lug
