Hey gang, we are looking for seven good men. The task of the seven will be to write short articles for the Daily Bulletin. I am spending so many hours at the computer now, seven days a week, that it is affecting my health*, and I can't give sufficient time to other "mission critical" site operations.
One day a month, each of the Magnificent Seven shall be responsible for delivering two (2) 450-600 word Daily Bulletin articles with 4 photos (or 3 photos and a video) per article. It is OK to use a YouTube video by somebody else, if it's a good fit.
This doesn't mean just sending in a link or a story idea. I need finished, fact-checked, original work product, complete with topic headings, correct grammar/spelling, accurate web links, and photos that have been optimized and cropped to the right dimensions. Each of the 'Seven' must not only write well, but must also be capable of basic photo editing.
If you can do this task one (1) day a month, you get byline glory and $70.00 per month for your two stories (provided they are good enough to use). I know that's not much money, but it should only require a few hours, once a month. For your reference, this Forum post is exactly 350 words long.
The "Magnificent Seven" must be committed. The stories (for the day you are assigned) must arrive like clockwork at least 48 hours before your "due date". It does me no good if Mr. Second Sunday's stuff arrives the ensuing Wednesday. I have to have the material in hand, ready to run, when it's due.
And the work product must be good -- it must be a good, interesting story, appropriate for our readership, and crafted with skill.
Why Seven? Well ten seemed too many and five seemed too few. Also, I'm budgeting $500.00 per month for this experiment. That will cover seven days with ten bucks to spare.
* I am starting to suffer vision degradation, repetitive stress injury, and painful back/neck problems. My docs say something has to change.
