single shot hi-wall in a 6mmBR or what?

Like you I am wanting to build a BRA in a single shot, but I'm easily side tracked. That's how I ended up with these two 38-55s, one a baby sharps and the other a H&R Buffalo classic. I've about decided after listening to all my elders that I need to start with a #3 Ruger, straight stock, action is strong as 4 acres of garlic, extractor comes .308, and fairly affordable........ least that's what I'm thinking now.... John
Fun! I’ve seen some custom Ruger #1s in 6BR and variants, I’ve always wanted to build one myself. I remember ODCr out together a beautiful #1 not long ago in 6BR or one of variants for a forum member here, stunning rifle.

I think it's a matter of preference, the #1 has a pistol grip and looks great in a larger rifle. The #3 with the smaller profile and straight stock just kinda looks made for a smaller cartridge. Plus I'm not looking for a traditional look so much on this one because I'm actually going to use it here on the farm. Thinking of a carbon fiber 22" threaded barrel (floated) and a quality 1" scope on a cantilever mount that with a can could lay on the dashboard of my truck, least ways that's what I have running around in my head... It's as much fun planning one of these projects and putting it in motion as it is shooting it after you get it done for me. Since health troubles forced me to give up IBS I try to have something being put together continually... John
