Single shot custom action?

Hello I’m working on gathering components for a 6.5-06ai rifle. I would appreciate some opinions on a reasonable priced custom single shot action preferably under or around $1200). Remington 700 footprint and of course long action. This round with a 140 grain bullet seated out shouldn’t have any problems fitting in a long action correct?

I just noted that you need a LONG action. In that case they have the Predator in a single shot, with a right port, and a standard bolt (not coned) see
Stiller Long Action

Here is the one I use. Rem 700 footprint, with left port, which I really like. Mine has an ejector in the bolt face, but I have cut the spring so it is flush with the boltface and doesn't eject. I remove the case by hand. It is a 6mmBR, so the cases don't get dinged up by being ejected and hitting something.

Stiller Predator V

When I got mine (2016) the action was described as toleranced as a benchrest action, so it is accurate. $1095 is a good price............. BUT.....mine came with the 20 minute rail. The description does not mention the rail. I suggest you check with the vendor to see EXACTLY what come with the action.

Also, the tenon drawing shown does not match a coned bolt. I have a different drawing from them which I supplied to the gunsmith who chambered my barrel. I have been very happy with this Stiller action.

I realize you are looking for a Remington foot print, but have you considered a Savage Precision Target Action.
The long range Bench Rest club I am a member of has a few shooters with PTA's.
In fact, I have two, my light gun and my heavy gun. I started with Savage PTA and a semi finished stock from
Sharp Shooters Supplies. I have a wall full of ribbons proving the guns' viability!
I did all the finishing on these guns as well as pillar and glass bedding.
The main complaints for these actions are the availability of triggers. First, the precision Accu-Trigger is not as bad as most people think it is. I put a trigger made by Sharp Shooters Supply on my light gun with excellant results. Unfortunately, I think this trigger is no longer available.
I put another popular trigger on the heavy gun that for all practical purposes does well.
