Sinclair Windage Top+ Problems

Hello All

Just wanted to check to see if anyone has seen the same issues i have with the early style Sinclair windage top, problem being, with the top plate pivoting from the front screw and the side to side movement via the rear mount, I get a rocking in the front bag from side to side, seems that the top of the windate top is only held in place via the front screw and held in place by a nylon type spigot in between the windage adjusters ( not sure that all made sense )
I'm thinking of bolting the top and the bottom of the windage top together ( Im not worried about losing the windage adjustment ) to eleminate this rocking movement that developed.
Just interested in hearing if anyone else has seen this ?

Just looked at my latest catalog - "Your Satisfaction is 100% Guaranteed". Call them up and ask them. Please keep us posted.

If we have the same model front rest you may find this helpful. I have an older Sinclair front rest…no longer made. Sinclair produced another model that predates mine, so it’s hard to say which model that you have.

With mine I found that the front pivot screw would loosen resulting in the entire top plate of the windage rest lifting up off the bottom plate and become wobbly. My windage top is pretty solid as long as I keep it tensioned properly. It’s simply a matter of keeping the front pivot screw tight.

Sorry for late reply! but thanks for the replies, I isolated the problem as being as mentioned above, a lose front bolt. tightened that up, rocking stopped,
what was i thinking ?? good thing i'm not a surgeon
