Sinclair Meplat Trimmer Comments

I have been contemplating starting to trim the meplat on my Berger Juggernauts for my F-Class rifle. Does anyone have any experience with the Sinclair Meplat Trimmer?

Comments and recommendations appreciated.

I've owned one but sold it. I prefer the Hoover and own a number of them in different sizes. The nylon body of the Sinclair never felt or was near as repeatable bullet to bullet as the Hoover in SS.

I didn't realize that the body was nylon. That is a deal breaker for me. Looks like I will get the Hoover.
Thanks for the insight.

I use my Wilson case trimmer, along with a Widden meplat bullet holders that are made to fit my Wilson case trimmer, my trimmer is the Brownell's model that has the micrometer, using this set up I can trim the meplats as short as I like to remove all fractures from the meplats, I then use a clean tool to remove all the burrs and chips from the inside of the meplat, I then close it back up with my Hoover tipping tool.

Patrick you asked for recommendations, do other things first.

I still frequently test trimming meplats, new bullet lots or new barrels, most times it is no benefit or even negative, my experience is with 7mm 180 hybrids.

Thanks Tod. Appreciate the input. I have a new barrel on order from Brux. Going to be a long wait. I have made a few improvements on my reloading consistency. Just looking for the next step.
