Sinclair mandrel

How consistent is Sinclair mandrel shank dimensions from mandrel to mandrel? I’m asking because I want to make my own body.

I assume you are talking about the top (larger) part? All of mine seem the same, except the 35 cal and larger ones have a much larger shank and use a different die body. Happy to take some measurements for you, if it will help.

Doesn't matter. They float in their latest die body.

Hi, it will help I’m interested in the smaller type. and yes it’s the upper part diameter and if they are consistent in dimension between several mandrel.

Needing a mandrel die body in a hurry, I found a Lee FL die that contained it quite well. A machine screw though the plastic top holds it still Works so well that I haven't bothered to replace it yet!

All my mandrels are Sinclair compatible, except my 30 cal which is LE Wilson, which has a screw in fitting

Hi, it will help I’m interested in the smaller type. and yes it’s the upper part diameter and if they are consistent in dimension between several mandrel.

all of mine are .373” diameter.

The part that’s milled flat seems a little less consistent. .365-.367 from the flat part across.

A 21st is too tight for my liking in a Sinclair die, just FYI.
