Sinclair Heavy Varmint Rest, with Windage and Elevation Adjustments

I am in desperate need for a Sinclair rest..only have 2 more matches for this season, and am competing for first place for the year against a custom BR50 rifle, I am shooting a winchester 52E that deserves a better setup. This rifle won last year, but it is increasingly difficult to stay ahead.

Anyone that has a Sinclair rest or something similar that they would part with, I would sure appreciate it. Would prefer windage and elevation adjustors and Edgewood bags, but will consider whatever. Could also use a rear bag to match.

This old Winchester E won last year, and would like to have a flying finish this year, too!

What set up are you currently using? OTOH have you tried bribing the match director? ;D I like this guys rests http://www.drgreenlawmachining.com/

hawgm, you must be having a good run, this year, if you are competing for 1st place. I question your wanting to change gear and bringing the learning curve into play.

:-[ Can't bribe the match director..he is the guy with the fancy equipment I am trying to stay ahead of..tried his bag/rest settup last weekends match and was shocked at how sweet it was! I am ahead of him by less than a point..the next 2 matcches will tell the tale.

So, I decided the old gun deserves better treatment than the crude settup I am using..but I cannot afford the new prices (ouch)..

Checked the recommended website..awesome workmanship for a rest.

Hopefully, someone will take pity on my plight (save an old Winchester). She really is a beautiful gun.

I have been considering having the barrel setback and rechambered with a good match chamber...any suggestions???

Winchester 52s have a very tight match chamber. There are dozens of match chamber reamers. Each RF gunsmith has their preference. I like a no taper straight with a 2 degree leade = Straight II. Go to the PTG site. That will give you and idea. http://www.pacifictoolandgauge.com/reamers2.htm#micrormrstop

Dan Greenlaw has built me two rests (different models) over the years and he makes tops with or without all the adjustments you are looking for. You can see pictures of them on the website Joe D cites. Dan does professional quality work, is a heck of a nice guy and his pricing is better than most of the professional rests sold on the market. I've even seen Dan's Windage Tops sitting atop Sinclair bases at some shoots out here on the West Coast. You can call Dan on the phone and see what he has sitting on his shelf as well. Happy shootin and good luck on your matches.

Thanks for your responses...was finally aable to get a Bald Eagole rest withEdgewoood rear bag..should be set up now for some real shooting!
