sinclair bipod

will the new sinclair bipod help with torque on my savage 12 LRPV? It has the HS precision stock, 6BR 1-8 twist.

thanks

What are you shooting? Paper, varmints, competition Benchrest or F-Class? From a good rest I've seen these shoot little bug hole groups in F-Class with out the mention of torque.

I have one for a Savage 12F in .308, shoot 210 Bergers and the torque does not bother me. Take a look at the leg spacing, that should answer your question.

trying F class , seems most at the last shoot i went to all had flat forearm stocks and some type of tripod rest for the front. my 12 lrpv has the h s prec. stock on it, more of a wide varmint stock. wondering if the sinclair wide bipod is the way to go or change stocks to a flatter front...

There are two divisions in F-Class Highpower, Open (F-O) and Target Rifle (F-TR). The Open folks can use a front rest that is not counted against weight and the rifle can weigh up to 22 pounds (10 kg), any caliber .35 or smaller. F-TR uses an attached bipod and must weigh less than 18.18 pounds (8.25 kg) and be .308 or .223. My Savage 12F .308 weighs 18 pounds, 2 ounces with the Sinclair bipod. I had to take the sunshade off the scope to make weight. You will shoot in F-Open and will have no problem making weight no matter what you hang on it. ;)

Shooting F-Open he should use a good front rest and forget about a bi-pod, the only bi-pod shooters on our line are the F/TR guys....err....less that guy that didn't make weight for TR and got put in Open.

Mike,
Danny Biggs placed third in the Nationals (f-open) using the bi-pod.
I've shot a 600 yard bench rest match using a pod, no difference between the bi-pod and a good front rest (if you learn how to use it).
