sinclair bipod,,,,, standard or adjustable elevation ?

I am thinking of buying a Sinclair bipod and am wondering if the adjustable one is the way to go or the standard one that only adjusts with the legs. thanks

I've been using the Duplin bipod and find it light, rigid and easy to adjust for elevation. Seb's new Joypod (when available) looks like it could be a game changer. I talked to Mid at Raton and he's enjoying the prototype that he's using. I have an older Sinclair (no elevation) and it works well but it's more difficult to respond to elevation changes than the Duplin. [br]
I hope some full-time F-TR shooters with recent Raton experience respond. I, too, would like to learn what they think.

I use the nonadjustable one. If shooting at one distance I find a little adjustment of the rifle fore or aft on the rear bag gives me all the elevation changes I need. At Raton shooting from 8 to 9 hundred and then to one K, it was necessary to re-adjust the legs but once there, I just used the rear bag. I guess it depends on whether your stock is tapered?

Have you seen this bipod. It is lighter at 1lb. 5.5ozs and has easier adjustability, and cheaper then the model you are interested in. I have used mine on my .308 F/TR rifle with over 2K rounds and also on my 6.5 WSM and my 338 Ultra mag.
Chuckbuster243 owns one
Arizona F class owns a couple
Nomad47 owns one, you could always ask their opinion of them.
I make them one at a time using stainless fasteners and T6061 Aluminum.
This one is mine on my 308

This is Bills, Nomads rifle with my bipod.

This is Chuckbusters rifle with my bipod.
This is Rockys, Arizona F Class rifle with my bipod with a different hole pattern on the legs

Let me know if you are interested in one and want more info. I have a couple different ways to mount it to your rifle. Your questions are welcome.

GNERGY, How much and what time frame can I expect it to be delivered? Also what is the adjustment height?

They are $225.00 plus 13.00 for priority ( 3 day mail insured ) and the height is 5 1/2 inch to 12 inches and I can have one put together by monday.

I have the Sinclair with adjustable height feature. Nice unit, but it developed play in the height adjustment unit. The only way to make it solid was to lower it all the way and just use the legs. That's a PITA as I can't always get the rifle to settle back too exactly where it was.
I called Sinclair, who stood behind it 100%. I sent it back last week and just got an e-mail that it was repaired and shipped out to me today. Kudos to Sinclair for excellent C.S., but we'll see if the bipod fails again or not.

+1 not a fan of the adjustable mechanism:has play/wobble. Not a fan of the adjustable legs, they are a PITA to set up versus the wheel mechanism most of the other bipods use.

I have the Sinclair adjustable and it still works OK. I took it to a match and then saw GNERGY's bipod at the next station. I should have waited! Nice craftsmanship and a solid rest with a lot of adjustment.

Mine weighs in at 18 pounds... 30" Criterion bull Savage 110 action Richards microfit stock bedded with devcon and a Sightron Siii 10-50 and bipod attached. Matt

Yes they do,this is a pic of an earlier model ( heavier )
The 2 adjustable handles lets you cant the top left or right and lock it down. This is an extream but you get the idea.
