Simmons Presidential

Picked up a Winchester Mod 70 XTR in 222 today. It had a Simmons Presidential 6.5-20x44 scope on it. Its a Japanese made scope. I've read they were/are as good as the B&L scopes. It seems very clear and in very good condition. Any opinions on this scope? Good enough for the 222 or should I be considering an upgrade? Thanks!!

Should be fine. How does it shoot? I have one of those rifles. I moved the magazine block back and altered the bolt stop so that I can feed plastic tipped 40 grain bullets out of the magazine, with the bullets into the rifling a bit, and plenty of bullet in the case neck. It I a lot of fun on California ground squirrels. Mine has had the trigger worked on so that is a safe pound or so.

Haven't got to shoot it yet. But the trigger breaks about a pound and a half.
