Silencer Central ?

So I purchased a gift certificate for a suppressor at the NWTF banquet in February of 2021. After 2 months of mishaps and waiting on mail they “ claimed “ to have my info sent off for approval??
Going on 13 Months now and still no approval, and claim that after it’s approved it will take at least another month before it’s shipped.
Everyone I know gets it done in a average of 9 months or less going through they local gun shop .Anyone else had any dealings with this company? Never again for me

Buddy went though there a few years ago. He was extremely happy.
I went through Silencer Shop and they were really helpful as well.
Once your paper work is all in and accepted, it is out of their hands. You are then at the mercy of the government.
I am waiting on mine as well, nothing like your time frame though.

They are very helpful, I was very irritated at them taking 2 months to get my info sent off due to forgetting to send me something, other than that just wondering if this is a normal deal ?

Yeah I hate to bother folks, yet some times being patient doesn’t fare well.

I know I saw some chatter a while back on contacting atf after a 12 month or more wait. Couple of folks said they couldn’t find any records

I actually thought about contacting them but didn’t know if that would cause any concerns with the ATF ? I think they gave me a order number or something regarding my account.

All of the "mail in" Form 4's I have sent in for customers are averaging 12 months for approvals.

BTW, Brandon Maddox at Silencer Central was the point man in the new on-line process for suppressors. With this new program, the time frame is going to be around 90 days. -Al

The 4mo its taking around here is amazing. Tell him hes doing a great job
There may be light at the end of the tunnel. I believed ATF set an approval time record processing my suppressor application. Very recently, I used the new online registration system to begin the process. Next day went to the Sheriffs department for electronic fingerprints. Two days later filled out the paper application with my gunsmith that lists the suppressor S/N and accompanies the fingerprint document. Mailed ( Certified signature receipt required) the same afternoon we filled out the paperwork. 17 days after setting up my ATF electronic account, we received approval notification for the suppressor transfer. Go Figure! We were hoping for 90 day processing at best, and received seventeen days start to finish. OBTW, my gunsmith had 7 guys in suppressor que ahead of me but none used the Certified mail signature required. ATF approved my application 7 working days after the Certified mail was signed for.

E-Forms are running 90-105 days for approval but there are a TON of people that have paper forms still pending that are over 12 months. ATF said they they have new staff just for the e-forms so it's NOT first come first serve. I'm betting the other agents are dragging their feet on the paper ones for job security : (

We used the new e-forms system to submit my application. Your “new staff” observation may be the reason for my applications expeditious processing. OBTW when I did my initial registration it was a weekend and the e-forms system was shut down for maintenance. System came back online Sunday evening approximately 18:00 hrs and took my registration.

Appreciate that JSH, yes, at the point it's in the hands of the ATF, but with the digital prints of the Silencer Shop kiosk, we've seen eForm 4s approved in approx. 90 days.

Paul
my 30cal can paperwork took 13 months through the local shop. but it’s controlled by the feds so we are lucky it dosent take 60 months i suppose

I'm 7 days away from a 12 month wait with SS and ATF just states it can take 8 months or so. Hell is was 10 months at that time.. By SS was great with purchasing and answering all my questions..
