Significant POI change with Suppressor

Have a Harvester suppressor I was switching between rifles. Works great on both but don't like switching between rifles. Bought a new suppressor - Omega 300 - for my 7mm RM. The POI shifted nearly 8" high. Got to admit I was not prepared for that mentally. Grouping still as good as with Harvester but wondering if POI should have shifted that much. Anyone else had this same situation when adjusting to a different suppressor?

No true answer Every gun is different. Tommy

A lot of it depends on threading job quality, suppressor weight, barrel weight, etc. I had a GA Precision rifle that was a great shooter. When I put my suppressor on, it would shoot 6" low and left. Still grouped great. You'll also find that a squeaky clean brand new suppressor will change POI as it gets fouled a bit.

I have one sporter contour factory barrel that is almost 4" (higher without my Harvester). A couple shorter varmint contours are only a couple clicks. So far none have had issues removing and reinstalling poi shifts, direct threading. I don't have any suppressed rimfire, wondering if there are any issues with the rimfires.

Changes on impact regarding the addition of a suppressor are the result of a couple of factors. Added weight will affect barrel droop as well as harmonics, take you pick which is changing your POI shift.
