Sightron won't track

I just mounted a brand new sightron siii 8-32×56 lrtd/tdt with 1/8 moa clicks and the tracking is awful. Scope is level, nothing is loose, rifle shoots fantastic sub 1/2 min groups at 100yds. It moves poi almost 1/2 moa per click though. Anyone ever have issues like that with these scopes?

If your dealer won't exchange it for you, send it straight to Sightron, turn around is quick, and they will make it right.

Their turnaround and customer service is excellent. I sent one back and the problems was my Savage. The barrel/receiver was off so much that I had to dial a bunch of windage in, which left me virtually no elevation. I sent the rifle back.

If you have the scope optically centered and the first shot is way off, you should consider Burris Signature rings or, at the least, Leupold adjustable windage rings. The Burris system is better, IMO.

Scopes have a break in period also , make sure your near optical center and recheck , turn knobs thru the travel slowly and careful .
Most have brass , steel , aluminum and grease all trying to mate together .
Make sure it wasn't human error , wind , parrallax not set , etc

I'd send it back to Sightron, quick. sounds like you might have
got a bad one. Very good scopes though.

i bought one off a member, it had been sitting for a while when i went to start sighting it in, it had came off a savage 6.5 creed which was exactly what i put it on... no joking only 1/2" off.. and that was vertical. but after shooting some i moved back and like you it wouldnt track.. actually it wouldnt move.. a few light taps with my hand and it began to move than once it started.. i moved it up and down a fair amount in both directions.. and since than it has always tracked perfectly. How ever i did buy a sightron because of how amazing their costumer service is.

These are mechanical , meaning they can take a set , from not being used .
Work the knobs , carefully . Then recheck . We've all got use to immediate satisfaction , it takes a little effort , sometimes a lot in this game .

I was taught to "exercise" scopes regularly by running the elevation & windage back & forth over the full range of movement. Might be an old wives' tale, but I can't recall having tracking issues since I started doing that.
