sightron spotting scopes

has anyone tried any of the sightron spotting scopes? if they are anything like their rifle scopes, they are bound to be good. in the market for a new spotting scope--my old one, a wind river is just not cutting it. i would like a kowa but they are pricey

Cole, I have an older model, SII 20-50x60mm. I got it for a very low price on Ebay about a year ago. It was new in the box and I think I paid less than $250. It is much better than the Wind River scope we used hunting one year. I would not say it is the quality of glass Sightron uses on their SIII rifle scopes though. The newer model might be of better quality.

To put it in persepctive, for the price I paid I'm really happy with it. If I had paid $500 I would have been disappointed. At highest power it resolves bullet holes at 200 yards nicely. Our range doesn't have anything longer than that. I use it mostly for hunting and we can evaluate deer antlers across canyons easily.

Bought one of these Leupold 15-45x60 Green Ring Sequoia Spotter It was awfull, it showed a yellowish ring all around the outside of the glass, Sent it back and bought the Sightron. I'm satisfied with it.

thanks for the replies. that wind river at 45x can not see bullet holes worth a darn past 200 yards and is impossible with any bit of mirage. my sightron scope on my 6BR on the other hand reveals them nicely
