Sightron SIIIs

Hi all,
I have a 6-24 Sightron SIII that is absolutely awesome and tracks superbly, but I am feeling the want for more power. Can anyone comment on the 10-50 sightron? I know it is huge and heavy, but how is the optical quality. Have they fixed some of the side focus problems that people are reporting? According to the mfg, they have fixed it, but any real world experience?
Thanks,
Joe

I have one on a 6 x 47L, Pierce action and really like it. No problems. When at the range tend to use it around 45 x, so I guess 50x falls off just a bit or I'd have it there. If you can afford a NF by all means have at it, but the SIII 10 x 50 is good stuff for long range work.

Yep, I love my Sightron 10-50X. and would get another. This is on a Panda, 6 Dasher and 6x47 but will probably be getting another for 308. I use mine for F class and 1000yd BR. If I was being pedantic, I could say that the optics arent quite as good as my super expensive March when cranked right up, but I have been able to see 6mm bullet holes at 600yds in the right (no mirage)conditions.

A couple of my friends have the 10-50s, and the glass is nice, no question. The only issue, and they have said they are working on it, is the click adjustments on the turrets are a little light.

Very nice choice for the $$.

I have two 10-50x60 on 1000 yd benchrest guns. I have no complaint about the turrets. Lens covers, yes, but the slip over objective one would wedge between the scope and the barrel and the eye piece one would interfer with the diopter adjustment, so I leave them off. Perfect and repeatable tracking. With no Mirage and the sun at my back, I have been able to see 30 cal holes in white paper at 1000 yds. I do intend to get a Nightforce just to have one and compare in all conditions. Having the 60 mm objective, when you back the power down some it makes the exit pupil larger, making it easier to get back on target for faster follow up shots.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I think I'll give it another month to think about it. Any opinions on the reticles for shooting groundhog matches?
