Sightron SIII vs Leupold MKIV

Trying to decide between a 6-20x Leupold with TS-29 reticle and 6-24x Sightron with lighted MOA-H or 8-32x with lighted MOA-H. I have researched a bunch and am leaning towards the Sightron but Leupolds customer service and aesthetics have me second guessing at times. My old Leupolds have never let me down. I know about the reticle issues with Leupold but I have heard they have pretty much corrected. I want good turret tracking and optical quality.

As an aside I could spend more on a Nightforce with SFP MOAR-T but I really like the 2 SFP reticles offered by Sightron and Leupold. I just don't know if the extra money is really worth it. This is going on a Prairie Dog gun in .204.

Who wins out here? Any one with experience in both greatly appreciated. I don't want to be disappointed and end up having to buy up later when I can do it right the first time.

Both are good scopes, there's no wrong choice. I've owned a lot of Leupolds, a couple Sightrons. I still own the Sightrons and have sold the Leupolds. My taste loves the Sightrons. I own some Nightforce too, you'll be happy either way but I'd go Sightron if it was me.

Haven't had a Sightron yet. My Leupolds haven't let me down. A guy was shooting a Sightron at a match last month and I looked through his, couldn't tell much difference between it and the Leupold. I'd say get the one you like best AFTER you have looked through both.

as I own 3 sightron 6x24s with the moa reticle that is my choice as I love them. have owned a lot of leupolds as I live in Oregon but after the trouble I had with their 6x24 I am done with them! I had one that would not track and sent it in 4 times and it came back and it still wouldn't track. also at low light you could hardly see past 200yds! thank god for cabelas as they took the scope back so I didn't lose any money. I just pick up a sightron III 10x50x60 and I really like it so far.

Well in my opinion both leupold and sightron are great. I got mrk4 in 4.5x14 and love that thing. I got a sightron 8-32 that I have literally beat the hell out of and its still awesome. Both my leupold and sightron track fantastic so tough choices. I would go sightron. You won't be disappointed. Promise.

I use loopys on all my guns cause of the after sales service and custom shop availability here in Australia, having said that, I shoot long range every weekend, and although I think my VX 3 glass is better my mates rifle with S111 Sightron that Ive shot numerous times.. The sightron mechanics are the best. This also goes for the Nightforce I have used, the glass is primo but the sightrons track better. The only drawback with the S3 is the milky view at max magnification, one piont off max ,clear enough for the job.
