Sightron SIII 45x45 options?

Guys
I'm putting together a range toy for short range (200Y and under).
I was thinking about the SIII 45X45 as the scope. It's a few years old model wise so I was wondering if their are better options on the same price point.

Caliber will be 30BR and I have no class restrictions... it's just a range fun gun.

Thanks!

If weight is not a concern, I would recommend going with the Sightron SIII 10-50x or Nightforce Benchrest 12-42x. I found those to be a lot more clear than my Sightron SIII 45x and can be bought used for similar price.

If weight is a concern, the Sightron SIII 45x45 is the best priced new option available for the distance you’re shooting. I have a Sightron 45x and a March 48x. The March has much nicer parallax adjustment and is clearer, but 2-3x the cost. As far as weights go, my Sightron SIII 45x45 weighs 19.5 oz and March Highmaster 48x weighs 22.5 oz.

Our local matches we shoot up to 300 yds. My Sightron 45x scope was not clear enough to use at 300 yds. I had both a Sightron SIII 10-50x and Nightforce Benchrest 12-42x, but sold them to make 10.5 lb on my guns. Both of those scopes worked very well at 300 yds. I have gotten along very will with the March at 300 yds. If I only shot 200 yds and less I would have less desire to spend the extra money on a March scope.

If you're not in a rush AA Optics periodically gets refurbished GEs for $1100 or maybe find a used one in the For Sale forum.

I sold a NF br scope and got a Slll 45x45.
I still like the scope. Been not quite a year
The KF was clearer in certain ways. The sightron has a reticle I like so there's that. Side focus has wider range of focus travel than my Slll 10x50.
It does it's job no doubt

Mirage is not good with the 45ed Sightron. If you experience it at 200yards your score will suffer.
At a 100 or less it’s great. Same day same Mirage March 48x no big deal.

If you’re using it for competition @100 yards the Sightron 45 is great. Holds solid.
However once you get hung by mirage at the 200 yard line. You will not be thinking of how many pennies you saved.

my sightron s3 45 doesn't have very good glass. come to think of it, neither does my s3 10-50 sightrons have good internals but average glass. I use my fixed 45 for 50-yard rimfire. it is perfect for it too.

45x Sightron Ed is Perfect for 50 and 100 yard on my rimfire --sharp as any to me--love the 1/10th clicks but...on outdoor with any mirage you can't dial it back for help
Never selling mine--Love it! Side by side with a NF BR 42x I thought it was better then realized he had an LED bulb over his target stand I had an older dimer bulb over my target--The 45x Sightron was just as sharp to my aged eyes If you can score one for a deal grab it--it holds value very well--easy to move if and when you get another scope.
There are Lots of the 45x Sightrons on the line at rimfire meets for a reason
