Sightron ll vs Sightron "Big Sky"

Can someone tell me the differences between a 36 X Sightron, and a Sightron "big Sky" 36 X ?

Is it the equivalent to a Chevy vs an Buick ??

I have both 36 powers and I cant tell the difference but I believe the SII 36 has a locking objective like a leupold 36D.

I have a 36x big sky
From what I understood when I bought it. The SII Big Sky models replaced the standard SII models in 2007. Redesigned with new higher grade glass and glass coatings
The upgrade in glass is supposed to be what drove the big price difference between the two models

I think my big sky is clearer and sharper than my T36 weaver

SI & SII are made in the Philipines. SII big sky & SIII are made in Japan.

All of my sII's are japan made. The only ones that were philipine are the later sI's which are no better than a simmons.

That is what the tech at Sightron told me a year ago. My brother has a Phillipine made SII. It tracks great and is clear.

Like I was saying the newer ones are. If they are clearer and made in the phillipines so be it.
