Sightron lens covers

Any suggestions on lens covers/caps for the Sightron S111 10-50x60? The objective cover that was included is usable, (just barely), but the eyepiece cover is a joke! Way too small by .204" to fit over the eyepiece. Tried Butler Creek #14 ( too small) and #15, too big. I can buy the cheapest Leupold scopes ( "Rifleman" & VX1 both in 4-12x), and high quality screw-on covers are available for Ten bucks each. The scopes sell in the $240/ $250 price range. Sightron is $950 & these are the best they can do? Open to suggestions. :D p.s. the "cheesy" icon seems to be appropriate.

Just bought a new S11---36x42--No covers or anything, you can talk to Sightron but you will do better talking to your DOG. Neil in St Louis

Frank,
Yep, the scope covers are a total joke. I have the same scope, and it was just sent back to sightron. The side focus/paralax adjustment went on it after 6 weeks of use. I probably should go back to my old Tasco, better lens covers and much better paralax adjustment. I guess it is a bit cheaper too!

Frank,

Have you seen the sunshades? They weigh almost as much as the scope. Those cost $50, each. I have two of the 10-50 Sightrons and went down the same route as you with covers and arrived at the same conclusion. The Butler Creek #54 flip cover works in the front, but nothing I have tried works for the eyepiece.

One of the scopes had a large, black, moving fleck of something that kept appearing in the field of view. At times, it covered the crosshairs. When it went back to Sightron, they said it was a piece of dirt and the technician was able to remove it. The scope seems ok, now. I commented that I received no covers for either of the scopes and the office gal promised to send me two sets. They sent one and that's ok because two sets would be just as worthless as one.

While the Sightrons seem to be working, I wish I had just coughed up another $400, each, and purchased two more NF 12-42 BRs. I have two 12-42 NFs, a BR and NXS. They seem to have better resolution in difficult conditions than the Sightrons.

It seems like Sightron could have better coordinated the release of this model. If they provided Butler Creek a pre-production unit for fitting, we could have a decent cover.

Steve: Thanks for the info on the #54 for the objective. That one is my main concern. I need a good fitting front cover for when I'm cleaning, especially when outside with a head-on breeze. At least some of the dirt spraying out the muzzle will be blown back onto the obj. lens. PM sent

I have a 8x32x56 Sightron and I am quite pleased with it. After seeing how they have handled the 10x50x60 with prices all over the place no scope caps no sun shade. I believe I will not be buying any more Sightron scopes. I will pay the difference and go with a Nightforce or March. The Quailty is far better and is well worth the difference in money. ( Frank is right on again)

The lens covers that came with my 8-32 are totally useless. I dont know why they bother. Who cares anyway. NIce scope. I just put a neoprene scope coat on it any way. no biggie.

So, what are everyone elses thoughts on the new sightrons sight picture quality? I dont need to see bullet holes at long range, but I want something I can crank up and not have mirage being unreadable or over bearing.
