Sightron 2.5-17.5 x 56 IRMOA

Looking for input on the newest Sightron 2.5-17.5 x 56 irmoa STAC scope. Have not seen any of these other than in writings and advertisement. Hard to believe that people are commenting that the glass is as good or better than VX6 glass. Priced much too low for that to be possible (IMO)

Pretty sure you will be very surprised and impressed on how good the glass is in these scopes.

The new 3-16 and 4-20 are really good too. When you account for their new pricing, you will not believe it if you aren't looking through them first.

enjoy

I read YOUR review actually and i was quite impressed, thank you for the research and information return. I read your review on the 4-20 model. That was my initial pick but really wanted the larger non covered turrets and a bit lower magnification. Not super interested in the illuminated reticle nor the larger 56 mm obj on the 2.5-17.5. Guess I'll have to compromise somewhere. What's your take from the 2.5 - 17.5 x 56 model ? Read some reviews that the 4-20 had a bit clearer glass than the 2.5-17.5. Seems as tho the glass would be the same. Maybe it was an individual scope issue.

The glass used in the STAC family is really really good. All are very similar - odds are scope to scope variation and set up has a larger effect.

It rivals a very popular big name, big dollar scope.

The SIII glass is a hint clearer but not by much so you really are getting superb clarity and resolution. Nothing remotely close in the STAC price range.

Sightron is planning for more options which is really exciting...

I wish sightron would come out with just a plane cross hair with illuminated dot on it. In the 10-50x60 and 8-32x56 models. For me and some older guys i think it would be great for target and long range hunting. Martyd

It's awesome that there are so many different interests in shooting and reticle interest. I used to ONLY use the fine hair/dot ill reticle. Currently I generally use the moa or mildot. That fine hair dot reticle was awesome for my varmint hunting guns. Actually I probably wind up taking out one of my 223 guns with a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20x44 fine hair I'll dot scope next weekend. Got an invite to shoot some ghogs.
