Sig KILO2000

I've had one for a couple of months. So far it exceeds my expectations. I've used it to about 1200 yards in bright sunlight with no problems. Scanning an area, it gives readings on objects almost instantly. My friends who use Leica's are impressed. I've only used a Nikon as a comparison, and there is none. My Nikon will not work in bright sunlight. Works well in overcast, rain or snow conditions. The Sig is a great buy in my opinion. The Sig does not have the standard mounting base. I bought the LRI tripod adapter for the unit so that I can mount it on a tripod if needed.

Would you think it would be possible to get a reading on a groundhog or ground hog hole at say 800-850 yards?

A reading at 850 would be no problem. It will require a rest or tripod to hold the reticle steady on an object as small as a ground hog hole or groundhog. Using a two hand hold, you will easily range the area the groundhog is on.

They are great. I dumped my Nikon as soon as I got mine. It is an incredible piece of equipment for a moderate price.

A friend just got one and I ranged a clock tower in town at 1,878 yards. Ranging steel targets out to 1k yards was quick and easy. They are pretty impressive units for $400ish

Went out on a raint ray with some fog and was ranging past 2000 got a good range on a rock wall we have shot at before at 1869, the kilo was doing better than the g7 speed, reading and way cheaper and smaller in size

I am still amazed at how far I can range, even hand held with mine. I did try one that came in a larger box than the current ones and it did not range as far as this one. I am guessing it had some problems or maybe they have made improvements?

Ranging hand held off juniper trees to 2000 yards is about double what I could get with my $1000 Swarovski ( Now sold). I have hit 3100 yards on a light colored cliff face using a tripod rest with a sandbag between the tripod and the rangefinder.
