Sierra Matchking 107gr 6mm/.243

Hi guys, I need some advice on bullet choice.

I have a .243 hunting rifle, has a 24" barrel with a 10"twist. Can I shoot the Sierra Matchking 107gr through the rifle, will the 10" rate stabelize the bullet enough to shoot up too 600yards.

Can't wait too hear what you guys think!

Greetings,
Give the 90gr Berger a try. I shoot them in my 1-10" twist, 22" barreled .243 over 43.0gr H4350, running just over 3000 fps. I have shot them out to 800yds and they shoot phenomenally.
Good luck,
John

Try the new Berger 95 gr Hybrid SAAMI Hunting Bullet - - that's the best for your application right now.

Dang man I cant keep up.... There is a 95gr Hybrid Now!!!!! When did that come out? Robert I would imagine you have been looking at that for the Turbo and related type set ups in the XTC Gas guns.

Could this be the one load and shoot all the way from 200 to 600yds for NRA Highpower?

Hope all is well.

Heck I got all excited about the silly hybrid and forgot to mention the 87gr VLD Berger Hunting bullet. It was made just for applications like you have with a Factory 1:10 243 barrel.
I cant say "I" in this instance since, My rifle has been pimped out this summer with the 87's... but I have a 6mm Grendel based AR that shoots this bullet Extremely well. So well infact, that a Hunting bullet was shot at the National Championships and never dropped a point at the three matches at the 300 yard line with high X counts.

You might give these little gems a go as well.

Tnx for the advice on the 87gr huntng bullets I might just look to find some they sound worth it! What do you think about the 87gr hornady V-Max? I really like how they look with the boat tail and the ballistic tip that is very consistent form one bullet to tanother? They have a bc. of .4 that doesn't seem too bad for the 87gr?

I have two Remmys with the 9.25 twist. The first one shoots 5 shot groups in a dime with 105 Amax at 200 yards and also shoots the 95 grain Bergers very well. The second shoots the 87 V Max very well.

Has anyone shot the Berger 95 Hybrid?
In my 10 twist the 90s are excellent with H4350.
I have tried the 105 Hybrids in a 6BR and they are also excellent...even at short range

Willem .243 musgrave,

The 87 Berger and 87Vmax will do very well in a 10tw. The 95's are iffy.

You should be able to shoot the 105 A-max in the 10 twist 243.
My 6mm Rem. 10 twist shot them very well.

Odd because I see no mention of 95g hybrids, hunting or target anywhere on their site.

VLDs yes, hybrid no.

Possibly I'm blind but could you post a link.

The new Berger 95-grain SAAMI spec "classic" hunting bullets (part # 24570) are available at MidwayUSA and Gunstop, just to name 2 places. Probably other sites as well. These are new as of August, 2012.

Strange, but there is no mention of these bullets on Berger's web site.

wrong to the guys that says no, with 40,6 s365 powder, it is super stable @ 2950 fps with a 1 in 10 twist, and outperforms many bigger calibers at long range
