My buddy shot some factory loaded .22 Valkyrie ammo at prairie dogs a couple weeks ago. He said it checked all the boxes.

I ordered directly from Sierra and got them in today. Probably been out for a while, IDK. Opened five of the ten boxes I got. If I'm reading the boxes right the lot is 149807811616GI. Did a quick and dirty inspection that is not statistically significant in any way.

24 of 25 were within .001" base to ogive on my SAC comparitor and Mititoyo calipers. Most were within .0005" (in other words zero) either side of my measured 0.4925" "average". 1/25 was .005" longer than the average.

23/25 were within .06 grains of 69, with more than half being effectively dead on (.02gr). The 2/25 not in this range were both 0.44 grains lighter (68.56), which is a head-scratch-er.

25/25 measured .2235" diameter.

Note the five selected bullets from each box were random when measured, put back in box, and then five were selected when I weighed them. In other words not the same 25. Too lazy to measure and then weigh each case as the scale was at other end of bench (LOL) and I was more worried to get all 100 back in each box.

I might get get more scientific after they prove one of my barrels likes them and I have a load developed. I may then see if the outliers shoot different. I doubt I can shoot the difference and if they dot up I will most likely just run em. I do find upon initial glance they appear to be pretty uniform on average.

Hope either my 22br or 22gt likes them as they should be good coyote and prairie dog medicine at the longest ranges I'm comfortable shooting small calibers at living critters. May be a while until I get around to load development but will post my results when I do.
