Sierra #1360

Several years back Jeff Barrett [GI Brass] had a lot of these bullets. When sales slowed I called & we made a deal on all he had left. These were paced in ammo cans when he obtained them from a de-funked ammo business. I use these in my 22-250, a mostly stock 700 Remington. My powder of choice is a very slow lot of 4985 which loads closer to 4064. I find the load performs great on p-dogs.1653613185808.jpeg

Sierra makes great bullets.

That bullet, 1360, is ideal for the 22 250 since it's stronger construction than the Blitz bullets (1340) which I used in the 222 thus is better suited for the 22 250 velocities.

Another great Sierra bullet for the 22 250 is the 55 BTHP (1390) which I used in my 22 50 before I shot the barrel out.

All those p. dog towns are great places to call in a coyote, start the day, early with a coyote stand. They will hang out watching your launch p. dogs.

1340's work real well up to 3550 fps. in smooth barrels like Hart and Shilen. You just have to see for yourself a coyote shot with a 223 with the 55's at 3450 with a hot load of Benchmark and CCI 450's!

Personally, I like to see those p. dogs with a front half and a rear half attached by a gut string only! Hee Hee!

I shot thousands of the 1360 and the 1340 out of 22 PPC, 28", 12 T at 3550 fps.

the 1390 is one of the toughest 55g bullets made. I pole ax'd two does around 100 yards with this bullet in a 223, Rem 788. The ogive design of the 1390 makes it a very accurate bullet jumping a distance to the lands in AR's and the Howa 22/250 that I had.

That bullet was my go to before the age od plastic tipped bullets. I actually got better groups with it than the vmax etc, but the plastic tip had a flatter trajectory, which helped me when I was guestimating range and was often wrong(er) a lot. Sic=nce then I just stuck to the vmax. But those Sierra bullets were a dream in the 22-250 for woodchucks.

That also was my bullet of choice out of my 22-250 & Swift for ground hogs, foxes, etc. I found they were extremely accurate and (when pushed fast) the damage done to large chucks has yet to be surpassed by other 224” 55 grain bullets (and I’ve shot all the varmint bullets available). I do shoot a lot of the plastic tipped now because of the slightly better BC but there isn’t much that a 14” twist varmint rifle can’t handle with those 1360s !!
