Sierra 130 gr 6.5 hpbt

Ahh, ok got confused. Didn't they release a TMK of same weight? My understanding, they are a good hunting bullet; but haven't got away from my 30-06 to try them.

I really like the accuracy of them so far. If you are speaking of the game king that is. I use them in (3) different 6.5x55. I just bought a 4th in same caliber, but haven't played with any loads yet. Only kill so far was a black bear that was a little over 100yds. It went maybe 15 yds? Didn't bother looking for a blood trail or anything. Shooting down very steep hill. Hit it a little back and high , right by spine, it exited right behind opposite shoulder. Clean pass thru, exit size was decent size. Will hopefully be able to give you a report on deer usage soon. I was very impressed with way it held up on bear thou. Bear dressed out at150#.

THE ACCURACY IS GREAT IN MY 6.5X47 BUT HAVEN'T TRIED THEM ON GAME YET BUT I'M SURE THEY WILL DO A FINE JOB !!

I see Sierra has come out with a 130 gr hpbt in 6.5. Has anyone on the forum tried them yet? Barlow
Have hunted with several years in 6.5x47 for southern deer. They are very accurate and offer good energy transfer. Most shots get blow through and offer blood trails for easy trailing(if not DRT). Hard to get a better 130gr.bullet, I am talking about Serria 130gr. HPBT Gameking

Thanks to all for the info. I will try them this spring in my old 94 Swede. I'm currently running the Hornady 160 Il which is very accurate in this rifle. I want some more speed (of course) and this bullet in other diameters is highly regarded. I run the Nosler 120 BT's in my 96 and they are excellent for accuracy and performance on game, but are pricier. Barlow

Finally was able to shoot a deer with this bullet. It performed as it should, was very impressed. I am going to stick with them in my 6.5x55's!! No bullet recovery yet. This was a clean pass thru, bullet expanded well, trashed the top of lungs, and left a golf ball size exit wound. Shot was behind shoulder, only ribs taken out, so expansion was good.
