Should I buy it?

I found a 300 PRC custom build that when I first saw it, I thought I wanted it. Now I am not so sure. It supposedly has only about 100 rounds through it. Built on a model 70 controlled round feed action, lilja barrel in 1-11, brake, sythetic stock, bases and rings, dies, brass and loaded rounds. The price is good. It was built by a reputable builder it appears, and in photos it looks like it was done nicely.
I like it, but just wonder what I would actually do with it. It is supposed to be light, under 8lbs. For me, it would be another hunting rifle. But, I have rifles to cover every game on the planet already.

For what it is worth, just reading your post it sounds like you are looking for a reason to buy it. Not a reason to not buy it. I know that when I approach purchases with a, but this, maybe that mindset, I am usually happy that I walked away. I know that a lot can be lost in text, but it does not sounds like your heart is in it. I would say wait for something that wows you.

If you dont have a 300 PRC then it may be fun to play with I have been interested in getting a lilja barrel but just havent done so yet

30cal magnum weighing 8 lbs or less is not much fun to shoot.

If you already have one I'd skip it.

Preach it! I saw a a Mauser sporter project that I ***really*** wanted on a classified forum. I wanted it mainly for the stock. I could sell off the barreled action, but that stock...wow! I asked a question about it and someone else posted an "I'll take it". That guy got it. I should have just jumped on it. The price was damn sure right.

11 twist would be the stopper for me. I have a 10 twist Surgeon in 300 Win Mag now. When this barrel gets replaced twist rate will be faster (and likely a 300PRC).
