Shotmarker install question

Hello all,

I see many people use shotmarker here... looks like a nice app and system.

My issue is this, I go to different ranges sometimes to a gamelands range and quite a bit to a private club range (many people shoot there). At the club range I bring my own wooden frame with a cardboard center where the target is mounted. As I understand it the holders for the MICs have to be permanently mounted to such frame with screws??! (or velcro it seems).
My question is, whether these holders can be mounted less permanently so that I can mount them to targets at 300 yards at the club (these are theirs not my frame) as well as at gamelands. I do not want to be bound to just my own frame.
Also, my biggest concern with this system is durability, what happens if a shot hits close to the mic (yes there are idiots who shoot other people targets etc.) and the mic falls or even gets shot at. Just wanted some feedback how you guys install these...... I looked at silver mountain system looks more involved.

Thanks

People just put their frame in front of the range's frame.

You can buy spare parts on their website.

You are better off with your own frame as once you calibrate the unit to your mic placement, you do not need to do it again. Mics and cables can be inadvertently shot but the unit will work with 3 mics in a pinch. Cables are basic audio cables available for around $3 or so online. Our club has had Shotmarkers for about a year and have had very little damage despite the strong and variable winds Eastern Oregon is known for.
Resist using velcro for attaching mics as they need to be as steady and square as possible for best accuracy.

I would also avoid the Velcro attachment as I would imagine it would be easy to induce variations in measurements as well as angular errors when mounting which could also impact accuracy.
I would see if you could do as mentioned above - place your target in front of the existing one. You definitely don’t want to have anyone shooting at your shotmarker components. An occasional cable replacement is no big deal but mics and sensor hubs would be a problem. I’d talk to others on the firing line and see if they would refrain from shooting at your target. If they have any indication that they wouldn’t refrain I would pull it.
They are a lot of fun and very useful but not worth being shot up.

I will see what I can come up with as I said my 100 yard target frame is mine but they are closely spaced and people don’t shoot as well as I would like for the 300 yard I will see what I can manage as they have huge frames that go up and down on pulleys
