ShotMarker a substitute for Labradar?

I have a Labradar chronograph now, I'm considering acquiring a ShotMarker system which, in addition to it's primary function, is also a chronograph. I realize Labradar measures at, or close to, muzzle velocity whereas ShotMarker measures velocity at the target, both useful numbers.

I only compete with myself, and out to 300 yards for now as that's the range maximum. My thought is to buy the ShotMarker system and sell the Labradar; my question for those who use ShotMarker, would I regret selling the Labradar?

Thanks.

Yes, if precision in chronograph measurements are desired. ShotMarker is great for dozens of reasons, but even the designer doesn't tout the accuracy of its velocity measurements. Don't get me wrong, I've had fun comparing the velocities on both systems simultaneously, but I wouldn't use the ShotMarket to replace Labradar or magnetospeed.

What is your primary reason for buying the Shot Marker system?
If it's mostly for the chrono readings, then your just trading one accurate
system for a less accurate system.
@300 yds. you can see your hits through a good scope.
Most are buying the S.M. system for long ranges so they don't have to run back
and forth to the targets to see hits, not for FPS numbers.

I would never suggest selling the LabRadar and relying solely on ShotMarker velocity data. They are intended to have totally different purposes, even if the velocity feature of the ShotMarker seems to "kind of" overlap with the LabRadar function. The Shot Marker system was never intended to be used as a chronograph.

Thanks guys, I'll be keeping the Labradar, I'll have to find a different way to sneak the ShotMarker past the finance chairwoman o_O.

Good question: I would be buying ShotMarker for it's primary purpose; marking shots, I figured if the chronograph feature was at least as accurate as Labradar, it'd be a two-for-one.

I can see the bullet holes clear enough at 300yds through the scope, and I suppose I could make hand-drawn notes and save $800 but, there may come a time when I decide to stretch the target distance, and who doesn't like cool new toys .
