SHOT Show Daily Reports -- New LINK

Forum Boss

Administrator
Folks,

I've been doing the rounds at SHOT Show--trying to find new, exciting products, plus get the "straight scoop" from folks like Dave Kiff, Jerry Stiller, Dieter Anschutz, Dave Tubb etc.

In order to allow larger photos and inline video, I went to a separate page for the SHOT Show report, rather than try to cram it into the Bulletin format, which is too narrow to allow embedded video.)

Check it out: http://www.6mmbr.com/shotshow2008.html

There are some surprises, including Dieter Anschutz announcing he is retiring and turning over the company to his sons. Dave Kiff is also offering a special discount for 6mmBR.com readers.

Note: if you're thinking about donating, hopefully this will give you a bit of inspiration. I could not do this report except for donations. Joe F. in Calif. donated the funds to provide the lap-top the report is created with. Other donations are covering hotel and travel costs. But it's my goal to provide timely reporting, plus act as your "advocate" in discussions with manufacturer reps. I've made suggestions to Swarovski, Norma, Leupold and Savage. By all appearances, the manufacturers are becoming MUCH more interested in the precision target and varmint market.

I had a number of specific suggestions for the Tikka Sako reps and they were very attentive.

Anyway, enjoy the reports. After the show doors close on Monday and Tuesday I'll crank out the "dailies" each evening.

If you have any questions you want directed to the major manufacturers, let me know.

David Tubb, Jerry Stiller, Chris Hodgdon, and John Krieger are on my interview list for tomorrow.

Great Job Paul

Is Cerbus there?,Parent to Rem and others) If so what are their plans for the industry? Are the combining several under one name? Will the factory barrels have more attention to detail? Did they buy it just to cheapen components make a huge profit and sell it, like AMF did years ago?

Thanks Harvey

Again Job Well Done, Keep up the good work.

There is no Corporate booth for Cerebus.

Remington and Bushmaster have their own entries. I'll try to get some face time with a Rem or Bushy exec to see if I can find out more.

Did you note that Bushmaster recently licensed the Magpull Masada?

Paul:
Is Sightron there? Any word yet on a release date for their new SIII high power variable?
Thanks
