well, went today and shot a small 10 point i've been eyeing on camera this year. shot him at 150 yards with my new loads for my 300 wsm. he was dead in his tracks, didn't even kick. i'm liking these 165gr sierra hollow point gamekings! also, i got to try out my brothers new toy, an argo.

Good going! nice looking deer. he has good mass too. I wish I could still deer hunt! our season closed the first saturday in Jan. I love those bullets too. Used them for a couple of seasons in my last .308win. they really hammer!

Been fortunate to be a part of a small group on many pack-in trips to the West Elk in Colorado. Can't be exact but 40 head of elk taken by the group with this bullet is probably realistic and on the conservative side......from 10 yards to ranges I won't post here so as not to offend those on high moral ground. A couple with a 308....several with the 300WM.......lions share with the 30/06.

Nice job, nice Deer.
Reminds me of when I used to shoot them with my .300 Ultramag with 180 Nosler Ballistic Tips. The exit wound was a little bigger.

Looks like someone is having fun ;D A buddy that i work with lives in Kentucky across the river. His wife is a 7th grade teacher and 1 of her students just got the largest scored 8 point buck recorded in the state. He showed me a picture of it with the young fellow next to it and it is a monster. Theirs a young fellow that i am sure is hooked and will be a life time hunter. ;D

The Sierra 165 Game King works VERY well for me in my 300 WM. The last 2 deer shot with mine were at 229 and 178 yards and it upended the both of them. The 229 yarder was shot by my son while I was spotting for him. That bullet hits hard.

It's not really a swamp. It's all hardwoods river bottom. One side of our property is a large river and when it floods it overflows into the bottoms. Makes hunting a lot easier as the deer tend to travel the high ground. Also it limits their area to find food so they flock to the deer fields. We had over 60 deer in the field a couple weeks ago.

Up where I live ,that would be a huge buck.I have never broke out of the 8 point rack.I have had xchances but something always made it impossible to get a clear shot.
