Short throat Grendel chamber

I recently bought my first AR, an Alexander Arms hunter in 6.5 grendel. The problem im having is that it has a very short throat, so much so that I have to seat a 95 gn. Vmax to 1.190” to just touch the lands. Hornady‘s data for the 95 vmaz has a coal of 2.30 and Nosler uses 2.260 for a 90 gn. Im using 8208xbr and any charge over about 28 gns. will seat longer than 1.190” (very compressed load)
Does any one know of a powder that will allow for more case capacity and have data ? I thought I read somewhere that Leverrevolution would give more case capacity but I could be mistaken. In the mean time I will call the manufacture monday to see what gives on this chamber.
If anyone has any suggestions or can shine some light on this please speak up. Thanks as always, E

Your saying there is over an inch of difference in what the book says and what you are able to do? Are you getting a false reading on a carbon ring maybe? But still, huge difference. You might want to have your gunsmith look at that. Something is not right.

If in fact your chamber really has a super short throat..I think a
Uni Throater kit from PTG will fix you up...but Dusty would know more about this than me
Im not a machinist...but think you can do it yourself...Call them

Yeah, my numbers were off, dyslexia is a bitch. That should be 1.990 not 1.190. Also I checked the chamber with a bore scope and all is well there. I’ll edit the original thread.

Looking at the burn rate chart Leverevolution is way too slow, to have less powder in the case should I be looking at say N130, H322 etc.?
I’ll look into the uni throater, but if it came to that I would probably replace the barrel. E

My favorite loads are with TAC and AR-Comp...but 8206XBR I hear works well too.
8208 is not for me however...
H322 should work..I think I used it a long time ago.....CRS

I had the same issue with a AA barrel I purchased. Took it to my gunsmith who throated it with a gig he had made to fit precisely the AR upper. Did it by hand and opened it up appropriately. 050. Once he did that, the rifle with shoot under 1 inch at 100 yds with 123 SST and CFE223.

LvrRev 30.8grains under a 130eld-m, just barely fits into mag - 2590fps goes subsonic at around 920 yards, holds reasonable (for a gasser) accuracy out to 800 - 1moa , 100to 300 it’s .3 to .5 Moa, never tried with any other bullets - IIRC it was not compressed at all
