Short rifle case reloading on a dillon square deal- possible? Y/N??

I have access to a Dillon Square deal reloader.

Can it be converted to load up the 6 BR and 223??

Does the square deal have enough gape to fit the 6BR into it???

I know I should use a 550B but I don't have one It's the Square deal or single stage on the rock chucker.

From what i remember the square deal is only a pistol loader. You're best bet now is to use the rockchucker you have. It should load more accurate loads anyway. If you want look at the dillion at500. Less money then 550 but can upgrade to 550 later.

It is designed as a pistol-caliber only press. I bet if you were clever enough you could get it to load a 6BR case, but the question is "why bother" when there are better alternatives. I use an RCBS 2000 for varmint loads. It is great because the CCI primers come preloaded in plastic strips.

The problem with the Square Deal is that it requires proprietary Dillon dies that can't be used in other presses.

It's much simpler than that.
A friend has one sitting in his shed left over from his IPSC days and said If I want to I can long term loan it.

I thought it might be an easy way to crank out some culling loads quickly without to may $$ invested.

Setting up a 550B is an expensive exercise.
About $1400 Aussie by the time you get it to this stage.


That a lot of reloading componants for use on my single stage Rock Chucker for that sort of $$. but for a carton of beer and a set of dies I was hoping to get a progressive.
