i am thinking on making a 7 mm saum. i know that i can use the short action, but i have read that i can only use the shorter bullets unless i load the longer bullets farther into the case which takes up precious powder space. can i use a long action for this round so that i can use longer bullets?
can i use any regular action for the stubby case or is there a specific one i need ti look for. as an example, can i use an old mauser 98 large ring action and bolt, or do i need a magnum action to accomidate the .548",i think) case?
also, i have a barrel in 1-8 twist. what bullets,in grn) would work optimal in this barrel?
what is a good action, long or short, that i could use. i am on a budget, and its a father/husband budget. i am not looking for a bench rest rifle, but do want all the advantages and accuracy that i can get. thanks Brian
