I bought this used from MHSA in October of 2020, Not 2018. Its been The most accurate rifle I’ve ever bought! I was told it had only 800-900 rounds through it.

I used it for the next 4 years and had SAC install another 27” Hawk Hill MTU 1:8” .264 cal barrel in February of 2023 I had bought two years prior. Along with a 27” .308 Krieger MTU in 1:9” twist for shooting long distance precision using the Berger 185 Juggernaut bullet. (That barrel is sold separately from the cost of the rifle being sold as well as the NF ATACR Scope and MDT mount.)

The 260 was chambered at SAC with a Match Tac reamer designed for Lapua brass and the BT right at the neck/shoulder junction with Sierra 142 CN SMK’s. Currently loaded ammo COAL is 2.8300”. I typically get 2,800-2,825 f/s with this barrel using various powders designed for this case. H4350, H4831sc, VV N160, etc, and they all provide exceptional accuracy no matter how you assemble the ammunition.

The 260 will have 711 rounds down the barrel when it sells. I say that because I have 28 remaining rounds left and since hand loads can’t be sold they will be tested in the next few weeks to show how well it shoots. (See test targets in the photos, those are fairly current). Yes the groups shrink when a APA G3 Little Bastard is installed. Barrel is threaded 5/8x24.

The Krieger 308 Winchester barrel has only 297 rounds down the barrel! Honestly it has the same thread pitch as a few of my other actions, so it’s not important if it sells or not. ($800.00)

SAC 260 rifle without the NF Scope and MDT Scope mount and bipod is $3850.00 which will include 700 pieces/ or close to it, of Lapua 260 Remington brass used in this gun. (All of it will be SS media cleaned, but not sized.)

NF ATACR 5-25x56 F1 Mrad, Digi, PTL, ZeroStop, Mil-XT reticle with MDT Mount, or a SPUHR SP-4001 mount if you prefer. $3,000.00.

Krieger 308 Winchester barrel $800.00.

I competed in PRS with this rifle as well as another one identical too it, but is a 6GT/ SBR 308.

There’s plenty of shooters out there twice as good as me and as such, would be in the top tier competitively with this rifle, but I’m just not that good!

I can’t competitively compete anymore, so I’m selling off this rifle to someone that can actually bring it the justice it deserves.

More photos of what shows handling/use which is nothing IMO. The most significant scratches are on the bottom of the butt rider.

There’s light paint loss from bag recoiling bottom of the forend of the stock.

The last picture is targets prior to competing that I shot at home.

I forgot to add:

The SAC alpha II is a proprietary action designed by Mark Gordon, and built by defiance machine. It features a AW cut bottom, and this has a Surgeon bottom metal, and comes with (1) Accuracy International AW Ten round magazine, if allowed by the State you reside in.

400 pcs. are already SS media cleaned, the remaining will be cleaned too in the next 10 days.

The rifle has a Trigger Tech diamond with the pro curve shoe set at 2.25 pounds.

Checking my 100 yard zero before going to shoot some steel @ 370 yards.

The flapper was taking a beating and flipped over with each center hit…. So it was reengaged to put it back down twice.

Who says a rifle can’t shoot a better group out to distance might want to take a look at the proximity of those four impacts at 370 yards are just as close as they were when it was 100 yards off of a bench. That with a 10 mile an hour head wind.

How does it shot at distance?
How many impacts did you make on the 500 yard mover when we RO’d the Karstetter Memorial Match in 2023 when it was shooting a different load, (42.4 H4350, F210M, New brass @ 2.2475 CBTO). But with the same bullet, and the 100 yard groups weren’t any better than what I shot today!?!

You couldn’t miss dude! After all I put three 3 round groups @ 819 yards after I sent the first one and corrected for the wind! That totally changed my mind about so-so 100 yard groups.

I got to taking with Jim Borden on why would this rifle not stay consistent at 100 yards on paper and he took one look at my BR Pivot Shooting Bench and said “That’s your problem, you don’t ever want the seat attached to the table!”

I would have never thought that has been possible until it made total sense!!

I had the chance to test fire this rifle again yesterday after talking to Jim Borden.

I’ve owned that bench for over twenty years, and I would have never thought of that’s why my groups at 100 yards have changed at times!

Here’s what matters…, It’ll shot a 1.75” group at 378 yards from an unsupported rear PRS type shooting position.

So I have another 15 rounds of this ammo (43.0 VV N160 CCI-34’s in 2x Lapua brass @ 2.8300” coal) that I can shoot out to a further distance to show how it performs. That said I have sent ammunition with a rifle so the new owner can verify how well it shoots vs whatever he ends up using.

FWIW, The 700 pieces of Lapua brass that is included in my asking price is worth $350.00 IMO. I’ll lose another $150-$175 on shipping, which brings the actual cost of the rifle down to $3,325.00.

I took off $1.00 per round fired from the cost of the gun. But if you tried to purchase it today it would cost a lot more! On top of that waiting for a new action, maybe the barrel, having the stock made, why wait?

Oh, and are those products that are being made as good as they used to be?
