It’s not bedded for any action. Nor would I recommend doing so. Paradigm says the same. They mold the inlet right into it (as you’ve noted) and it will mate up with any 700 short or clone. (1.35” diameter. Even a Borden I had fit like a glove and it 1.36” I believe)
