Short 200g Hybrids

Received few boxes of 200g Hybrids recently and noticed they are much shorter in over all Length than previous 200g hybrids i have shot and developed loads for at 1000Y new 200 hybrids Length 1.4620in to 1.4840in Lot no. 6798, older 200g hybrids 1.498-1.504in Lot no. 6875, does anyone have any info about the shorter 200g hybrids e.g is accuracy affected at Long ranges with the shorter hybrids over longer ones, was there an issue with the shorter 200g hybrids, Thanks for replies.

paul,
The bullet overall length will not affect accuracy. Check the base to ogive measurement of the new lot against the old lot so you can adjust your seating depth off the lands to match the old lot. The only affect MAY be if you are running a magazine. Then the increased bullet length MAY be an issue. If you have any more questions please let us know.

Thanks for quick reply Phil, Seems to be fair amount of variance with ogive measurements between Lot i recently purchased no: 6798, which measures 0.752in from base to ogive and 1.460in over all bullet Length and Lot i am currently shooting 6875, which measures 0.785in from base to ogive with overall bullet Length of 1.501in, The Length difference of both Lots clearly visible without measuring, will be shooting both Lots back to back same measurement off the lands at 1000y this saturday to confirm shorter Lot yielding same accuracy as Longer Lot, with current production run with the 200g hybrids is there as much variance with ogive and over all bullet Lengths as the figures i quoted, Thanks.

paulT,
Our variances are based on a single production LOT bases. So you will find that bullets within THAT LOT are very consistent . So as you have found you MAY have to do small adjustments between lots.

Hi gstaylorg, Thanks for detailed reply you are spot on with trying to buy in bulk to avoid such issues when opportunity arises, think i will tweek load a tad to allow for slightly increased case capacity with shorter 200h and as i am in middle of node with current 1000y Load accuracy/verticals should be on par with previous Longer 200g hybrids.
