Shooting seat for big old guys, recommendations?

A stool sample?
I saw that coming! that's why I added "clinic" before stool. I guess I'll have to try harder next time.

I have solved the problem thanks to all you guy's suggestions. No $ spent! I really appreciate this forum. You folks provide helpful, advice with no judgemental snide. It is like having a big bunch of very wise, and very patient next door neighbors. I can wander into their shop and ask them a really dumb question and i get a smile and a very helpful answer.

Thanks, once again!
Cheers to you all.

kujuak, glad to hear the problem got solved with minimum fuss and zero cost. This place is indeed a treasure; friends and good advice.

As an aside, the doctor's or dental stool was the inspiration for the seat on my BR Pivot shooting bench. We used the seat produced by one of the leading medical stool suppliers; worked out very well, and my original from 1997 is still going strong from repeated trips to the Orygun outback for what we term "BR varmint shooting".

Sitting on these stools makes for a full day of being comfy, and I hope your "new" prize works out as intended. Nothing like "bun happiness". :)

I have a folding stool rated for 300. Adjusts over 12”. Probably closer to 16”. PM if interested and I will try to find. Cost below $200 when I bought mine. Has a back!

Nice rig. Some bench rest shooter's at my annual pilgrimages from the coast to the Prairies to shoot gophers or some such small rodents. They tow a flat bed trailer with a bench mounted on the trailer. I would love plans for a good portable bench that breaks down to fit in my pickup bed. I like the Stukey benches but $1900 is outside my snack bracket. i was thinking maybe clamping a piece of 3/4" plywood on a Work Mate bench????Use, shooting long range steel, boulder busting in roughb mountain country.

I used to stock and sell these pre covid. Price and availability got crazy but it's well made and will hold more than the 300lb rating, IME. Stable, ample adjustment for most any bench and shooter, folds up nice and has been my favorite shooting stool for several years now. This one is priced pretty well and free prime shipping...fwiw. I highly recommend it.
I have one of these 6 years now . Best stool out there for the money .

I was a big man at one time 430 down two 265 now I got my stool from harbor freight it's got rollers on it but you don't have to put them on good seat like the ones in Dr offices under 100. Was on sale for 64. Last. Week not had any p with mine love it has a shock system for up down don't leak check them out
